The
special, which was taped on Aug. 27 in Los Angeles, gathered a slew of
celebrities to rip on Lowe over his acting career, perfectly good looks and
infamous past liaisons and sex tape — while his family, wife Sheryl Berkoff and
sons Matthew, 22, and John Owen, 20, sat in the audience.
My
music is very earnest, but I have a very dark sense of humor, and on my stage
I'm pretty biting and kind of do stand up," she told USA TODAY at the
Comedy Central after party. That group also includes Gilbert Gottfried, who
made history by telling the first major 9/11 joke after 9/11 at 2001’s Hugh
Hefner roast, and Greg Giraldo, who was a consistent MVP at the events before
his death in 2010.

do a lot of skits and really strange characters (at my shows), so it was fun to
have the opportunity tonight to kind of show a little bit of it. Rob Riggle
then suggested that Coulter’s presence could only mean only one thing: “Someone
must have said her name three times. Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice!”
There
are the veteran comedians, most notably “Roastmaster General” Jeff Ross, who
has appeared on the past 13 roasts, including this Monday’s Roast of Rob Lowe. “I’m
fairly positive I knew it wasn't ‘pop,’ as we called soda,” Lowe wrote. The

former Broncos quarterback was the only roaster not to swear, he still packed a
mean punch.
“It
was beer, probably Stroh’s, as a few years later that brand would become my

Lowe says his father introduced him to alcohol at the young age of five.
