At Apple’s iPhone 7 launch on Wednesday, while the company
didn’t spend a lot of time on its latest operating system for iPhone and iPad
it did announce the release date for iOS 10: Tuesday, September 13. Siri
Apple’s voice assistant is also getting a major uplift; it will now be
functional enough to order you a Lyft or Uber, and much more.
Once you get that alert and the infamous little red dot
shows up on your Settings icon, your device is ready. You can also play youTube
links from within the iMessage app. You can install this update on the iPhone
6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c,
iPhone 5, 12.9-inch and 9.7-inch iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad Air,
fourth-generation iPad, iPad mini 4, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, and
sixth-generation iPod Touch.
iMessage now has its very own App Store which means that
you'll be able to do things like order food, book flights and send money
without having to leave the conversation you're in. Not all phones will receive
the update on day of release—It could take more than 24 hours for iOS 10 to
actually show up on your device.
Apple’s biggest release yet, iOS 10 will bring a host of new
features for both consumers and businesses. The upcoming iOS will contain a
host of new feature i.e. changes in iMessaging app, like cool birthday
animations.
