While Samsung's line of wearables is already relatively
popular on its own, the Korean tech giant is not sitting pretty on its success.
The wearable has arrived in three variants, with the top-tier providing wearers
with LTE connectivity. Stunning specs such as the IP68 rated for water
resistance and 1.3-inch screens that are embedded with resistant Gorilla Glass
SR+ are also anticipated to be enjoyed on the new "Samsung Gear S3."
Like smartphones, the Gear S3 is IP68 certified, meaning it
is resistant to both water and dust. In emergency situations, Gear S3 users can
activate the SOS and location tracking features to alert their friends or
emergency professionals. A 380mAh
battery is inside the smart watch which, Samsung claims would stay for three to
four days. And then when the battery is draining, you can charge it within just
15 minutes to make it run for about 10 hours.
The display of the smart watch is covered by Gorilla Glass
SP+ that Corning recently announced, to protect against scratches. It supports
wireless charging. But it is important to note that the battery life depends on
usage and settings. The Gear S2, for a comparison, has a 250mAh battery.
The large 1.3-inch display (with a 360x360 resolution) makes
it easier to read messages on the watch, and the body has enough space to allow
for integration of GPS and an embedded SIM card, which gives the smart watch
further independence from a connected smartphone to make and receive calls. In
fact, the company has made major upgrades to the Samsung Gear S3, in comparison
to its predecessor, the Gear S2.
